1. The operator and these terms
DeckRanger is operated by Martin Samsel, trading as BSMG (“DeckRanger,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
Martin Samsel, trading as BSMGMarii Skłodowskiej-Curie 71h87-100 Toruń, Polandinfo@deckranger.comThese terms govern the website and our homeowner matching service. By submitting a project request after being shown a link to these terms, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not submit a request. Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory consumer protections or other rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
2. Who may submit a request
You must be at least 18 and have legal capacity to use the service. Submit a request for a genuine project, using accurate contact information that belongs to you or that you are authorized to provide. If you are not the owner, you must have appropriate authority to inquire about the project and accurately state your ownership status.
The matching service is designed for deck projects in the United States. Availability varies by location, project type, contractor capacity, and other practical factors.
3. What DeckRanger does
We receive your project details, look for a participating local contractor who may fit your request, and may introduce you to one selected contractor. Submission does not guarantee a match, a reply, an estimate, a particular price, a start date, or completion of work.
DeckRanger is not a construction contractor, employer of the contractor, insurer, lender, or party to your building contract. We do not design, inspect, supervise, or perform the work. A match is an introduction, not a guarantee of quality, safety, licensing, insurance, or fitness for your project.
Unless we expressly describe a particular verification in writing, do not assume that a contractor has undergone a background check or that we independently verified credentials. You should check qualifications, current licenses where required, insurance, references, permits, and suitability before hiring.
4. Cost and contractor relationships
Using the homeowner matching service is free. Submitting a request does not obligate you to hire anyone or pay DeckRanger.
Contractors may pay DeckRanger for introductions or related services. We do not represent every contractor in a market, and commercial participation may affect which contractors are available for a match. A participating contractor is not necessarily the cheapest or best option in your area.
Any estimate, deposit, invoice, financing arrangement, refund, or payment for building work is agreed directly between you and the contractor. Do not send construction payments to DeckRanger.
5. Sharing your request and project communications
The submission form asks for your permission to share your contact details and project information with one independent contractor selected for your request, so that contractor can contact you by phone, email, or text about the project. Additional sharing with a different contractor requires your further permission.
Permission is limited to the requested project. It does not authorize unrelated marketing or, by itself, authorize automated, artificial-voice, or prerecorded marketing calls or texts where separate consent is required by law. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
You can withdraw an unfulfilled request or ask us to stop further sharing by emailing info@deckranger.com. If a contractor already received your details, ask that contractor to stop contact as well; we can help identify the recipient. Withdrawing a request does not cancel a separate contract you have made with a contractor or remove statutory cancellation rights.
Our Privacy Policy describes the processing of your information. It is a privacy notice, not permission for uses beyond those you authorize or that the law otherwise allows.
6. Your dealings with the contractor
You choose whether to hire. Agree on the scope, materials, schedule, price, payment milestones, warranties, permits, insurance, change orders, and cancellation terms in writing directly with the contractor. Check applicable building codes and HOA or property requirements with the appropriate parties.
The contractor is responsible for its own statements, quotes, services, workmanship, personnel, legal compliance, and handling of information. If you have a problem with its work, raise it with the contractor and, where appropriate, your insurer or the relevant authority. You can also tell us about an introduction-related concern at our contact email.
We remain responsible for our own service and for any duties that applicable law places on us. These terms do not transfer those duties to you or remove rights you have against us.
7. Information, notes, and photos you provide
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit and for having permission to provide any notes or photos. Do not upload unlawful content, misleading information, sensitive documents, or material that infringes someone else’s rights.
You retain ownership of your content. You grant DeckRanger a limited, nonexclusive permission to store, copy, and share relevant content only as needed to handle your request, provide the authorized introduction, maintain necessary records, and comply with law. This permission does not authorize public posting, advertising use, or sale of your photos as stock content. It ends when the content is deleted, except to the extent lawful retention is required.
8. Acceptable use and website content
Do not submit fabricated or repeated spam requests, impersonate others, interfere with the website, attempt unauthorized access, scrape personal request information, or use the service to harass anyone. We may refuse or restrict a request where reasonably necessary to prevent abuse, comply with law, or protect the service, without affecting nonwaivable rights.
Website text, branding, logos, and other materials are owned by DeckRanger or used under appropriate permissions. You may use the website for your personal project inquiry. You may not republish or commercially exploit our branding or materials without permission, except where the law allows.
Website images illustrate the service and are not presented as proof of work completed by DeckRanger or a matched contractor. General information on the website is not a substitute for project-specific professional advice.
9. Availability and responsibility
We aim to provide a functioning matching service, but it may be interrupted, contain errors, or be unavailable. We can correct errors or change features. A request is received only when the website confirms that it has been saved; that confirmation is not confirmation of a contractor match.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not provide additional warranties that a particular match, quote, or outcome will be available, and we are not responsible for an independent contractor’s conduct merely because we made an introduction. This does not exclude responsibility for our own breach of these terms, negligence, or other conduct where the law requires it.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Your statutory consumer and data protection rights remain unaffected.
10. Complaints, applicable law, and disputes
Please send complaints about DeckRanger to info@deckranger.com, describing the issue and giving your request reference if you have one. We will consider the complaint and respond within any period required by applicable law.
These terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections afforded by law that applies in your place of habitual residence. You may bring a claim in any court that has jurisdiction under applicable law; these terms do not impose an exclusive foreign venue, mandatory arbitration, or a class-action waiver.
If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent allowed by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We will publish updates here with a new effective date. Updated terms apply to new requests after they take effect. We will give appropriate notice of a material change affecting an existing request and obtain agreement where required; changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights.
